ALL ABOUT JAPANESE HAIR STRAIGHTENING

Japanese Hair Straightening, or Thermal Reconditioning, is a chemical process that releases the hair bond that are rearranged meticulously, flat ironed and then neutralized. This process is extremely effective on hair that is in good condition and will process straight, frizz free, manageable hair.  Average touch-up time is within 6 months.

Japanese Hair Straightening Procedure:
1. Hair is shampooed
2. Hair is blow dried for 80 to 90%
3. Hair condition is checked
4. If hair is healthy, or virgin (no color, highlights, relaxed or anything chemically treated) we would use a stronger chemical for your hair. (healthier hair takes longer)
5. Hair is left alone for a certain time with the chemical on your hair. Then wait until hair has had time to develop (time depends on your hair)
6. When hair has developed, hair is washed.
7. Hair is completely bow dried
8. Hair is flat ironed. (this part of the process takes the longest. Hair is parted into little sections and we would straighten it one section at a time)
9. Hair is neutralized. Neutralizing cream stays on for about 10 to 15 minutes
10. Neutralizer is washed off.
11. Hair is blow dried and customer may get hair cut/trimmed.
